Jordan’s New Chef’s Terrace Tasting Menu Unveils this Summer

The French-inspired wine producer, located just outside of downtown Healdsburg, had to close its indoor tasting salon and popular estate tour excursion during the pandemic. The challenge inspired Jordan Winery’s chef to transform their expansive terrace into a bistro-style restaurant serving alfresco lunch on select days. Due to its success, the pop-up has returned as Chef’s Terrace Tasting and is offered Thursday through Monday from June through October. The menu features seasonal bites prepared by Jordan’s new Executive Chef Jesse Mallgren. If you’re looking for another outdoor wine and food experience, try Jordan’s Estate Tour & Tasting–a moveable feast where you’ll enjoy alfresco wine and culinary tastings across the 1,200-acre estate. Offered Thursday through Sunday from June through October. Learn more about visiting Jordan on their website.

Rooftop Views from Rooftop 106

One of our favorite indoor-outdoor spots in town is The Matheson’s rooftop—Rooftop 106—a dream project that opened its doors in 2021. This beehive-inspired, lounge-dining room-bar hybrid has an incredible energy that can’t be replicated. We especially love the wood-fired oven, dining couches and bar that overlook Healdsburg Plaza. Favorite menu items include their TM Pepperoni Pizza topped with smoked mozzarella, crushed tomato, honey, Thai basil; Broccolini Pizza with charred onion & Calabrian chile cream, feta, preserved lemon; Spiced Pork Belly Bites with apple + red cabbage “slaw”, pickled red onion, garlic chip. Rooftop106 opens at 12 p.m. Friday-Sunday and 5 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Reservations available on OpenTable.

Valette Restaurant’s Outdoor Dining Room

Dustin Valette and his staff built a lovely outdoor dining room during the pandemic in 2020, allowing diners to enjoy the chef’s farm-fresh cuisine in a lovely sidewalk setting surrounded by plants and the bustling sound of friends reconnecting over dinner. We’re happy this temporary parklet stayed because there’s now more opportunity to experience this culinary staple in downtown Healdsburg. Book your reservation on OpenTable.

Bravas is located inside an old craftsman-style home with an equally charming backyard patio, hidden away from street view. Bravas’s backyard patio is surrounded by lush orange trees and anchored by an open-air bar. The Stark family’s eclectic menu highlights small bites inspired by traditional and modern Spanish cooking, with a California wine country twist. Bravas offers a selection of local and Spanish wines, sangrias, and Spain-inspired cocktails, including a variety of signature gin and tonics. Outdoor dining is available year-round at the backyard patio or the restaurant’s covered back porch.

Spoonbar Garden Dining Room Returns

During the pandemic, Spoonbar, located inside the H2 hotel, created a dining room in its garden behind the hotel lobby. Diners were so charmed by the sounds of the nearby creek and birds chirping in the surrounding trees that the owners have decided to keep the Spoonbar garden dining room open this year with no plans to return to offering only indoor dining anytime soon. Barndiva chef alumns, Thomas Mulligan and Pancho, now helm the kitchen, and are creating some of the most exciting food since Spoonbar’s opening a decade ago.

Willi's Seafood Restaurant Healdsburg Restaurant with Patio Seating

Willi’s Seafood & Raw Bar Patio Open

Enjoy Paris-worthy people-watching on Healdsburg Avenue at Willi’s—another Stark family-owned restaurant, like Bravas. This is one of our favorite local spots for fresh seafood that is now open for outdoor seating, dining and drinking. Choose from eight varieties of freshly-shucked oysters and other seafood delights, like peel and eat gulf prawns, Maine lobster rolls, and steamers—cooked in none other than PBR, Old Bay and garlic—all of which will transport you right to a charming seaside town in New England. Or, if you’re in the mood for a Latin American flare, choose instead from a selection of ceviches, crudos and tartares. The bar is known for its specialty cocktails, like Cucumber Martinis, Raspberry Lemon Drops and Barrel-Aged Manhattans. The wine list features over 40 wines by the glass highlighting some of wine country’s best options. Open air patio open five days a week from noon to 8:00 p.m.
